About
Kinse started with my grandmother.
By Anthony Awoyele, founder of Kinse
We loved her, but no one checked in on her every day. Kinse calls on the days you choose, on any phone, even a landline.
Kinse is a check-in conversation and medication reminder company founded in 2025 by gerontologist Anthony Awoyele (CORA Labs). Check-in conversations and medication reminders by phone. Families can also schedule other short reminder calls for breakfast, lunch, dinner, hydration, bedtime, or exercise; those use the same call minutes as medication calls. Works with any phone, even a landline. Families get a short summary. Your loved one does not need an app. Kinse is not 911.

Where it started
How a gerontologist founded Kinse phone check-ins
My grandmother didn't live alone. Family was around her. But everyone was busy with their own lives, and daily details still slipped through. No one knew whether medications were taken. No one knew when she'd had a hard day. Support was there in spirit, but there was no daily check-in.
That gap became personal, then professional. I studied gerontology and worked with people in care settings, and I kept seeing the same thing. So I built Kinse to call on a schedule the family sets. The check-in no longer depends on someone remembering to dial.
The founder
Anthony Awoyele, gerontologist and founder of Kinse
Founded Kinse at CORA Labs in 2025
- B.A. in Sociology, Social Gerontology option, CSU Los Angeles
- M.S. in Gerontology (MSG), CSU Long Beach
- Worked with people in care settings
Anthony founded Kinse in 2025 after seeing the same pattern in gerontology studies and care settings. Some tools needed a new device people did not want. Others helped caregivers but never reached the person aging at home. He built Kinse so the check-in happens on the phone they already use. The people who care get a short summary.
How Kinse is built
Privacy, independence, and dignity
Privacy
Summaries and medication answers go only to members of the care team you invite.
Independence
It works with any phone, even a landline, with no new login to learn.
Dignity
Your loved one can skip a question or decline the call. Kinse is a phone call, not a camera.
What we will not build
What the check-in will not do
Kinse does not diagnose, keep a recording, or send help to the house. It calls on your schedule and writes a short summary. In an emergency, call 911.

Summaries stay with the care team you invite
Summaries and medication answers go only to the care team you invite. Kinse keeps the short summary written after each call. It does not keep a recording or a full transcript.
You choose what each person can change or only read. Your loved one needs no app and just answers the phone. Save Kinse's number in their phone as Cora.
