Security and trust

Kinse does not record calls.

After each call you get a short written summary. You choose who on the care team can read it, and what they can change.

Kinse stores account data, schedules, and a short summary after each call. Kinse does not store call recordings or full transcripts. You choose who on the care team can see those summaries. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Kinse is not 911.

What Kinse stores after a check-in call

Kinse keeps a short summary, the medication answers, and any alerts from each call. It does not keep audio or a full transcript. A typical summary looks like this: Atorvastatin 20 mg, taken. Talked about the garden this morning.

Who can see the summaries

Only members of the care team you invite can see the summaries, and only with the access you give them. When a call goes unanswered, or a medicine is missed or refused, Kinse alerts members of the care team who turned alerts on. Inviting a sibling, a neighbor, or an aide does not cost extra. You only pay for each person Kinse calls.

How your data is protected

Account data, schedules, and summaries are encrypted while they move and while they are stored. Only the people you invite can open them, with the access you set. Kinse does not have a SOC 2 report yet. When it does, the report will be listed here.

Common questions

Does Kinse record calls?
No. Kinse does not keep a recording of the call, and Kinse does not keep a full transcript. After the call you get a short summary, including medication answers and how the call sounded. Works with any phone, even a landline. Save Kinse's number in your loved one's phone as Cora. The summary is what you read later, not a playback.
Who can see the summary after a call?
Only members of the care team you invite, with the access you choose. Some can change schedules and settings. Some can change medications and appointments. Some can only read summaries and alerts. A sibling, a neighbor, or an aide sees only what you allow. People who are not on the care team cannot open those summaries.
Who gets an alert after an unanswered call or a missed medicine?
Members of the care team. When you invite someone onto the care team, they can receive alerts for that person. People who are not on the care team do not get those alerts. An alert is a notice to follow up. It is not help sent to the house.
Is Kinse HIPAA certified or SOC 2?
No. We do not claim HIPAA certified status, and Kinse does not have a SOC 2 report yet. Account data, schedules, and summaries are encrypted while they move and while they are stored. The HIPAA notice explains how health information is handled.
Is Kinse 911 or a medical alert?
No. Kinse makes scheduled check-in calls and medication reminder calls. It is not a medical alert pendant, and it does not send help.
