Connection check

Contact frequency and felt belonging are separate. Barriers can change the next step without becoming a third score.

The Kinse connection check separates how often a real conversation happens from felt belonging in the week. Barriers such as hearing, phone setup, time zones, or avoiding talk change the next step. This is a family worksheet, not a clinical questionnaire. Phone check-ins can hold a time on their clock when logistics have crowded out talk.

Question 1 of 3

How often does a real conversation happen (not only logistics)?

Common questions

What do frequency and belonging mean here?
Frequency is how often a real conversation happens, not only a logistics call about rides or medicine. Felt belonging is whether your loved one sounds like they have people in the week. The two are scored apart. A daily call about errands can still leave someone feeling alone.
Do barriers change the score?
No. Barriers change the next step only. Hearing trouble, a phone that is hard to answer, a time zone, or avoiding talk are listed so the family can act. Kinse does not use those answers to grade anyone.
Can phone check-ins help?
Yes, as a scheduled conversation at your loved one's local time. Kinse works with any phone, even a landline. Your loved one answers. That does not replace in-person time with people they already know. It holds a slot when the week has crowded out talk.
Are answers saved?
No. Kinse does not store this quiz. Print or download keeps notes from this visit. Leave the page and the answers are gone.
